Yes, you will have full access to the training so long as you are a subscriber.

This depends on the volunteer status and current relationship with long-term care community, if one exists. Volunteers who begin with NALTCV with no current obligation to a long-term care community is absolutely welcome to complete training at their own pace. It is recommended to dedicate enough time early on to complete the training as soon as a subscription starts or within the first week of subscribing, and continuing on until the training is finished. This is to ensure that the volunteer does not lose touch with the content and is able to show reliability and accountability with completing training in a timely, responsive manner. If a volunteer has been referred to NALTCV for training purposes, a schedule will be at the discretion of the care community.

As a volunteer, you have the right to decide when and how often you would like to volunteer. However, the care community you volunteer for will have recommendations on best practices to volunteering in long-term care. We encourage you to ask this question to the designated Volunteer Manager when you receive an application. Ultimately, this decision is at the discretion of you and the care community you volunteer with. NALTCV does not provide or recommend specific scheduling information to volunteers.

NALTCV is open to flexibility with care communities in order to reach optimal engagement with the training platform. In addition to the video modules, training tools that are available to use include, but are not limited to, booklets, study guides, and exams. Special requests will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us directly to discuss expectations and needs early on.
